Alex is a Chartered Professional Engineer and Fellow of the AusIMM. She has two Bachelor of Engineering degrees (Mining Engineering; Mining Geology); an MBA(Finance) & is a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Alex's mining career spans over 25 years in many commodities (mainly gold & copper)mainly underground with some open cut. She started with 15 years of on-site operational mine design & management mostly working for Placer Dome APAC (first female mining engineer at Porgera JV PNG and in the first wave of women to obtain a 1st class Mine Manager’s Ticket), followed by over a decade of consulting and regulatory roles (first female WA District Inspector of Mines). Alex was the ninth woman in Australasia to become a Fellow of the AusIMM.

Alex is a broadly experienced, networked multidisciplinary professional with experience in digital transformation of life of mine planning, management of mining risk and improving performance in realistic valuations and JORC compliance. She is passionate about the retention of women in the minerals industry and connecting people to facilitate productive relationships.

Alex is a Director and Audit & Risk Committee Member of the Board of the AusIMM. She is a member of 3 AusIMM National Society Committees (ConSoc, H&S and E&C) & Perth Branch Committee. She has been a long term active volunteer mentor mainly for WIMWA (but also for WASM, Curtin Uni, UWA, Get Into Resources & the Innovator's Tea Party - high school STEM). Alex has previous NFP Board experience from Earth Science Western Australia (ESWA) and Advocare Ltd.

Alex is the mother of two beautiful children – her TOP priority. Trust, transparency, ethics, integrity & friendship are important to Alex.
